While it’s easy for women to pep themselves up and quickly make over, for men it has remained a long carried social suicide if they do any makeup beyond styling gel.

However with the advent of metro sexual fashion trend for men and them becoming increasingly conscious of their appearance, make up for men has become a very acceptable norm in today’s world. Where on one hand women who have a natural talent for this because of the early childhood training men have to struggle to even take up the very first step because of lack of guidance.

Here are some dos and don’t for men doing makeup:

Applying foundation: When applying foundation, keep away from anything that is glittery and doesn’t suit your skin tone. Oily foundations are an absolute no. If you are making appearances in a place where you are expecting lot of photo clicks like a press conference or a public appearance if you are a public figure then avoid putting foundation at all. Foundations make face shine so instead of that, try wearing a skin tone matching powder that gives you face a shine free yet defined look. Do not apply foundation if you have lot of facial hair or you sport a beard lest the foundation would stick on those hair and look messy. Have a clean shave before applying any foundation.

Concealers: If you have spots, blemishes or scars that embarrass you socially then modern makeup accessories offer using a concealer. It’s important that concealers go well with your skin tone. As they are suppose to conceal they should be at work while keeping their application secret and for that its important that you use a concealer that is a shade lighter than your skin tone.

Eye makeup: If you intend to apply any eye make up to give a defining look to your eyes then apply light eyeliners and clear mascara. Dark eyeliners and colored mascara tends to make your face very messy. A light touch of eyebrow pencil gives an attractive but less obvious look to you eyes.

Chapped lips are outright turnoffs. Try using lib balm but avoid using a very glossy one.
